Back in August 2020,  I like everyone was trapped in my house while a pandemic was raging across the world!   We didn’t have vaccines yet, they were still 6 months away for me and my family.  We were in a quiet before the very scary storm that came at the end of the year for infections and I was 10 months into a job search that started before the holidays in 2019.

So, while I’m sitting at home in the midst of the Covid lockdown, prospects for the future kinda confusing and steadily going a little more crazy every day, I needed something to give me a purpose that would provide both a creative outlet and at the same time get me exposed to what the outside world was feeling as well.

With time on my hands and a Yeti Blue mic in my garage,Started talking to people…

People from all different experiences, backgrounds and industries. A couple of Technologists, a Writer/Historian, a Playwright, a Film Producer, a Sound Editor, a Lighting Director, a Rock Musician, a Student, a bunch or folks who have made Coffee integral to their lives, a Winemaker and Food Truck entrepreneur. I have stories about Burning Man life in London, Paris, South America and Asia.

And all these people are sharing how their life changed and what they are doing to get through along with what they are looking forward to in the future. It’s been cathartic to use this “Relief Valve” to help blow off some steam by talking about life in the time of a pandemic and knowing we are not alone and that we are persevering through the single biggest shared experience of all our lifetimes !

And while Covid is going to be with us for a while, after a year and 31 episodes, I’ve begun to pivot into focusing more on what my guests do, how they do it and how their ambitions are guiding them into the future.   I know I have a lot more to learn and I’m looking forward to talking about how the new normal takes shape and what is really important for everyone!
